ACTIVITIES & PROGRAMMES
SCHOOL LESSONS
The learning center is used by the two Junior High Schools in the town (The District Assembly JHS and The Methodist JHS) for their science and ICT lessons.
This gives the teachers the opportunity to use the facilities such as the projector for effective teaching and illustrations.
During ICT lessons, the students get the chance to use the computers in the computer room to get practical understanding.
FREE AFTER SCHOOL COMPUTER CLASSES
During vacations and also on Saturdays, free computer tuition is organized for the students.
The center also offers extra tuition in computer literacy to students who are keen to enhance their computer skills. This takes place after school.
AFTER SCHOOL LIBRARY
The library is opened to students and the public when school closes.
Books are available based on the school curriculum and the students get the opportunity to revise what they have studied in school using their standard textbooks. There are also a lot of reading books and reference material.
EXTRA CLASSES FOR JHS 3 STUDENTS
As a way of supporting JHS 3 students for their BECE exams, the center renumerates some of the teachers to have evening classes with the students.
This arrangement gives every student the opportunity to have extra tuition as there is no affordability issue.
MOVIE NIGHTS & GAMES
Selected appropriate movies and in-door games are arranged on Friday and Saturdays for students who have attended the library the most during the week as a way of motivating them to use the library.
QUIZ COMPETITIONS
Competition brings the best in students. As such the center organizes a termly quiz and winning students are given prizes
INTERNET, PRINTING, PHOTOCOPYING AND RESULTS CHECKING
Internet, printing and photocopying facilities are available. The center also supports students during registration for their final exams, checking of their results online and school placement.
